My first post.
Well what should I say?
I have been thinking about doing a blog for years but only recently have felt the urge again to start writing because of this inspiring young girl: Banned Blogger does good. Although I love talking, eating, and thinking about food, admiring my cat Noodles, struggling against a foreign (for me) culture, this blog will be a random mix of whatever is on my mind.
Why now?
I also find less people are using Facebook now and I want to stay in touch with friends and family back home. I have found myself in hot water many times by inadvertently offending people on FB with my rants and opinions so it's best to keep my thoughts to my non-English friends who are more likely to "get me".
Any ideas on topics or issues I should discuss? I'm all ears!

In my boring dayjob I haven't really got the opportunity to use any creative skills so I'm hoping that by keeping this blog I will nurture whatever writing skills I have left...

woohoo! welcome to the blogosphere officially Viv! So glad you're here. Love the analogy that the first one's like a pancake ;) Love the pic of Noodles reading. And the font of your blog headline is great! I hear Wordpress is more flexible/powerful, but with that comes potentially more frustration (more variations to nail).

ReplyDeleteAlso try google blog. I used it a while ago & it was really simple, but just took like a couple of weeks to be searchable online. Way to go, girl. Have fun with it. Ideas? Hem.., the summer, fitting in a different culture "you'll find lots of listeners for that :)". Miss you, Viv. I was thinking about you the other day & the time we went to Whistler.
